Hi everyone! My name is Amy Lewin and I’m a CELTA qualified English teacher from the UK with around 9 years of teaching experience. I am back teaching here on Verbling after taking a break to complete my postgraduate masters degree. Having now graduated I am happy to say I am now accepting new students once again.
As well as an English as a foreign language teacher I am an emerging theatre maker creating bilingual (Spanish and English) theatre for young audiences and a drama workshop facilitator (so you can be assured your lessons will never be boring!). I’m a person who loves a challenge and to try new things. Over 10 years ago I decided I wanted to travel the world and I haven’t stopped since. I’ve travelled extensively and have lived in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. My life is about experiences and learning about different cultures and people. I consider myself an artist, an actor, a dancer and an educator. I’ve been teaching English for around 9 years, in the UK, Asia and South America. Most recently I taught in South Korea and prior to that I taught English in Argentina, where I was living for 6 years, so I also speak Spanish! I have taught a whole range of nationalities, predominantly Spanish speakers, and I have taught all ages and all levels of English too. I have experience teaching very different kinds of classes such as, general English, exam preparation classes, pronunciation classes, conversation classes and grammar classes. All my classes are tailored specifically to your needs, focussing on the area that you feel you want to work on and the topic of your choice! The most important thing about my classes is that they are fun and interactive. It is much easier to learn a language if you enjoy taking classes! I try to incorporate games, discussions and debates , videos, music and a whole range of other interesting authentic material into my classes. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. I hope to see you in class!!
