Hello, Bonjour, Hola,
My name is Paloma Albero. I have been teaching languages for more than 5 years.
I have taught in colleges, university, primary schools, language schools, and other institutions. I like teaching in a dynamic way, making the students realise about their own skills and discover by themselves what they are capable of.
I have taught English, French, Spanish and Catalan to kids, teens and adults, all levels, and every pupil is so different and so capable, we only have to realise how they think, how they achieve and manage, and everyone has his/her way. So we, teachers, are no more than a guide for their achievement.
It is very different to teach kids, than teens or adults, but all of them have their joyful in common. With kids you need being flexible and understand they need to move and express themselves in movement. Teens and adults can concentrate during a longer period, but they need to have fun for them to better understand and internalise what they are learning, so the teacher must be adaptable to every student, because everyone is a different kind of person.
I enjoy kids, but I enjoy teens and adults because they are really fun and witty, I remember a performance we prepared in adults class and my pupils really surprised me by joking between two typical festivities, one local and other one that had arrived with English culture to Spain, they made a comedy, they disguised and made a little scenery, they really enjoyed.
And yes, I think everything is possible in teaching and every one can learn so much with the right motivation and stimulation.
