Hi everyone. I am Helena Seo. I was an English tutor in Korea for three years and most of my students were middle and high schoolers. I then began my adventure to Australia as a Korean tutor. Initially, I have a few students and they were people who are full with passion in learning the Korean language and culture. Also, there are some students who would like to become a translator or interpreter in the future. Well, I am very happy with them and I had a great time with them as we get to increase our expertise on different cultures as well as getting to know about each other more! I am a friendly, responsible and patience tutor and I will try my best to keep your interest in studying Korean. It doesn’t matter if you are a total beginner or advance, you don’t need to worry as I will help you in improving your writing, reading, pronouncing, and vocabulary skills. As for the advance student, if you are more interested in elevating you’re listening and speaking skills, I can choose some of the specific topics based on your preference for discussion. For instance, the traditional Korean culture, entertaining industry, latest politic and social issues and many more! Besides, I can also help you in preparing for the Korean proficiency test (TOPIK exam). As an adage goes, ‘go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.’ I want you to be hardworking, positive, and challenging than me! Seeds do not grow in a day right? In order to let a seed blossom in to a beautiful flower, one must keep on nurturing it which somehow indicates we must have patience while we are in the process in learning. I will also tailor the suitable course for each individual depending on their learning criteria. Best regards, Helena Seo. My Teaching History: Sep/2015 to Current - Private Korean classes for foreigners (10 students) Aug/2014 to June/2015 -Private classes for high & middle school English (about 100 students) Mar/2011 to June/2014 - Educo (Education company) - Korea Position: Team leader -Teaching English middle & high school students side by side -Supporting team member and coaching how to teach -To go to the local School for supporting Coaching Camp (Deock-Il middle school : vishion camp 2015) (Goeck-Sung middle school : Leaning Coaching camp 2015) (Ha-Dong Office of Education : Dream Coaching 2015) - 2014-2017 Creative Writing (Seoul Digital University) -2003-2006 Philosophy (Wonkwang University)

Hello! I am Meena from South Korea. I am a professional Korean teacher and passionate language learner. I completed a program on teaching Korean in grad school and since 2013 I’ve been teaching many students from different backgrounds. The majority of my students work in business in Korea but I’m also teaching kids at the moment. I also taught in a Korean Language school in Canada for several months. *My thoughts on learning languages Since my passion is languages, I spend a lot of time watching polyglots’ videos in which they talk about effective ways for learning languages. They have different points of view regarding studying grammar, using flash cards, when to start practicing speaking and so on but one thing they all agree is that you need to do it every day. I couldn’t agree more on this point because I had amazing Spanish teachers before but I didn’t practice every day even though I enjoyed their classes. As a result, I remained in beginner level. *My goal for you, how to get most out of my Korean class What I can help you with is to reach you intermediate level in which you would be able to have daily, casual conversation without any major discomfort. I’m offering you more than just one hour class a week, which means you should do homework after class. I have a system where, aside from our weekly one hour class, you need to commit 10 min a day or more depending on how motivated you are to speak Korean naturally without spending too much time having to recollect what you learned. (Homework can be different depending on goals but the main idea of homework is to have you create relevant content based on what we covered in our previous session and to practice many times to get used to using the language.)

Hello, Verbling Friends. My name is Bill. I have been teaching Korean to beginners online and offline for 3 years. I graduated from Cameron University, Oklahoma, USA. My major is called International Languages which the students choose two foreign languages to study. I speak English, Korean, and Spanish. I have various experiences of language learning. So, I understand how frustrating language learning is whenever students face problems and their language skill is not being improved. My teaching program has four sections. Each program also has particular materials for students. You can choose one of them for your lessons below: 1. Regular Course: it covers all parts of learning from the beginning: reading, grammar, speaking, listening, and writing. 2. Focus on Grammar: If you have some knowledge of Korean and want to recall what you learned, this is the good option to choose. 3. Pronunciation Doctor: this is for someone who is not confident with their Korean pronunciation. I use a book that helps learners improve their pronunciation. We listen audio files and practice together during the lesson. 4. Free conversation: In this section, we talk to each other freely in Korean. I deliberately speak slowly to students so that they become confident of their listening, understanding, and eventually speaking. My philosophy for language learning is simple: it should be funny. The reason why is that it requires long hours of practice and repetition. Sometimes, students lose their interest in learning more, but when you begin to speak, understand the language, and deliver your message to native speakers, the feeling is amazing. Trust me. I saw many people who challenge other languages afterwards. I am also one of them. Please feel free to ask, and do not hesitate to make class reservation. Thanks all! See you soon!
