Hello, my future student! I am Edward, a CELTA-qualified English tutor from England with 1000+ hours of online and classroom teaching experience. I also offer reduced rates for students looking to take 45-minute or 30-minute classes. My present students come from all backgrounds, countries, age ranges and levels of competency in English; whether business professionals looking to improve their international communication skills or school pupils trying to get to the top of their class, I have helped hundreds of students make the breakthroughs they have been searching for. Just read my reviews! From advanced level students perfecting their grammar and expanding their vocabulary to near-beginners wanting to raise their confidence levels and improve their conversational skills, I have helped them all on their journey through the English language. My knowledge of languages, linguistics and philology is extensive, but I am keen on keeping things accessible, relevant and fun when I teach. I am a trained multi-linguist, speaking both French and Spanish, with a BA degree (2:1) in Hispanic Studies at the University of Nottingham and a CELTA qualification from the University of Sheffield's acclaimed ELTC.
My name is Mary and I have been teaching ESL for 7 years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Ohio University (USA) in 2013 with a minor in Linguistics and a TEFL Certification. I then worked for a non-profit organization, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, teaching English to refugees from all over the world. After this position, I traveled to Cuenca, Ecuador and taught for a non-profit organization, CEDEI, for a year and a half. Both job experiences I had in this field prior did not have a lot of opportunities for technology in the classroom but when I can I like to include articles, videos, speeches, use of Microsoft word in the classroom. I have now been teaching online for four years. I am very excited to continue teaching online to open up the possibilities to have a multi-media classroom. I also think that speaking and listening are the key to fluency and like to put a strong emphasis on speaking practice: debates, conversations, and presentations. I also have experience with teaching paragraph structure, essay structure, and different styles of essays. I have taught grammar at all levels, also. I try to keep classes interesting with a mixture of activities and with minimal stress but well-rounded knowledge of the language. I truly hope you'll take a look at my schedule and consider a trial lesson in which we can discuss your goals and a learning plan. My policy for missed lessons: I will wait 10 minutes for a student to arrive. If it is the first (or second for regular students) missed class and the student messages me with a reason, I will unschedule the lesson so that the student can reschedule. If this happens more than once or twice I will keep the payment for the wait time and preparation. I understand things happen, so I will forgive, once or twice of course, but I also prepare for the lessons and this is my full time job.

Hi, my name is Ivan. I am a native English speaker from Australia and have been a teacher's assistant and English tutor for school aged kids since 2017. I enjoy working with children and have been a volunteer in a number of different programs. I have also worked with older teenagers as well as those who need assistance with preparing for English tests and helping them fill out applications for various English and other educational studies. I moved to Bosnia with my family as a young child but English is still very much my native language. My lessons are fun, informative and I have lots of materials that are easy for young students to follow. I am also happy to work with any materials my students have, especially if it will help them with their regular school work. As a student learning a different language, I understand the difficulties and this has motivate me to further my studies to become a fully qualified English teacher. I look forward to getting to know all the young, and young at heart English students out there so send me a message and introduce yourself.
I am a fully qualified English Teacher from Bristol, England. I hold a Masters with Distinction in History from the University of Birmingham and have lectured at Kings College London and University College London (UCL). Prior to this I received full training and certification as a teacher in the UK. I've been teaching for years and I really love it. During my career I've gained lots of experience with all types of students and levels. I've had students who don't know the days of the week all the way up to students studying for the Cambridge Proficiency Exam. Presently I specialise in the intermediate and advanced levels, helping students to improve their level for professional purposes or to gain certificates to access higher education. Whatever the exact level of the student, my general approach is more or less the same. I am able to quickly ascertain a student's capability from a short conversation and use this to design a tailor-made plan of study. Depending on the needs of the student, this could include specific areas of grammar that need work or aspects of writing skills. Classes are heavily based in conversation practice and correction, with the necessary study elements taught at different points during the 60 minute talk. In this way, subjects can be covered with speed, with concise follow-up homework tasks reaffirming this knowledge gained in class - then ready for revision in the following session. My approach attempts to avoid the burden of language study with short, focused tasks as part of dynamic sessions. The combination of this with a tailor-made package of study enables the student to progress much more rapidly than in traditional group study. Furthermore, such a technique is particularly useful for online 1-on-1 learning, an area I have been working in exclusively for the last 3 years, delivering over 4,000 sessions! Finally, I strongly believe that students need to be relaxed and enjoying themselves to get the most from sessions. I endeavour to achieve this as a teacher by ensuring a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and through this, delivering dynamic and engaging sessions, pushing the student to achieve their full potential improve rapidly. Get in touch and we can work together to create a programme of learning that works for you and sees you progress with speed!
